Increasing Public Awareness

People Helping People

When people ask, "What can I do?" they often mean "how can I, as one human being, alleviate another person's suffering, nearly halfway around the world?"

Humanitarian Aid
In the aftermath of September 11, many Middle East charities in the United States have been shut down due to alleged links to terrorist groups. It is also known that some shipments of humanitarian aid have been prevented from reaching the intended recipients by Israeli forces. Many people would like to give, but they want to know that their money will get there safely and be used properly. The links below are reliable relief organizations, easily accessible to Americans, still operating in the Middle East.

Jerusalem Fund
We ourselves have established a direct fund for aid to Christian and Muslim Palestinians through the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem. This money is wired directly to a Diocese account in Jerusalem, and through a personal connection there, we receive regular word that the funds are arriving and being put to immediate use in the West Bank and Gaza. If you are interested in contributing this way, please contact us for details.

International Observers
International citizens are also traveling to the Middle East as observers and nonviolent witnesses of the conflict. We provide several links to groups that are organizing such trips.
